A Moment to Remember

Come together at our festive gathering to celebrate someone special, remember those we miss and share memories this Christmas.

Join ADSS (Alzheimer's and Dementia Support Services) for an evening of reflection, shared memories and togetherness this Christmas. Whether you’re remembering someone no longer with you, celebrating someone still beside you or simply coming along to be part of our community, you are warmly welcome.

Friday 4 December 2026, 4pm–5.30pm
Safeharbour Memory Wellbeing Centre, Coldharbour Road, Northfleet, Kent, DA11 8AE.

What to expect

We’ll begin outdoors (partially covered) with a short, inclusive service. Through poems, readings and music, we’ll take a moment to reflect before switching on our outdoor Christmas tree lights.

Afterwards, join us indoors for complimentary refreshments and time to chat. You can also place a star on our indoor Tree of Remembrance to honour someone special, which will remain in place throughout December.

There will be an opportunity to explore our day centre and, weather permitting, our sensory garden.

Please register using the form below and tell us how many people will be coming with you.

Register your attendance

We’d love you to join us. Please complete the form below, including any access requirements or anything you would like us to know before your visit.

Do you or any of your group have any dietary requirements?

A moment to share, a chance to connect.

There’s something special about taking a little time together. Sharing a story, hearing a familiar song or having a conversation over a warm drink can bring us closer and make room for memories we don’t always get the chance to talk about.

Come with family or friends, or come on your own. Whether you’d like to share, listen or simply enjoy being among others, there’s a place for you.

Explore our FAQs to find out more about the evening. If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to talk through anything before joining us, please contact Gemma at gemma.hill@adss.org.uk.

No. Everyone is welcome. You might want to remember someone who is no longer with you, celebrate a loved one living with dementia or simply spend time with others in our community.

Our service is inclusive, welcoming people of all faiths and none. It will include poems, readings, music and time for reflection.

The opening service and Christmas tree lights switch-on will take place outdoors with a partially covered area, lasting approximately 20–30 minutes. Please wear warm clothing. Refreshments and the indoor Tree of Remembrance will be inside afterwards.

Accessible parking and seating will be available for people with mobility difficulties. All areas are step-free. Please tell us about any access requirements when you register so we can help make your visit comfortable.

Yes. During the gathering, you’ll have the opportunity to place a star on our indoor tree to remember or celebrate someone special. You are equally welcome to come along without adding a star.

Donations are welcome but entirely optional.

Please register in advance and include the number of people attending with you. This helps us prepare seating and refreshments.

The event is being held at our Head office in Northfleet, near Gravesend in North Kent. The full address is Coldharbour Road, Northfleet, Kent, DA11 8AE.

On-site parking is reserved for guests with mobility difficulties. For other guests, there is a large car park at the nearby Cygnet leisure centre, less than a 5 minute walk away.
