About Us

As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we're proud to be Kent's largest independent dementia charity and an award-winning organisation, recognised both locally and nationally for the life-changing support we provide to people affected by dementia.

Celebrating 35 years of making a difference

Since 1991, ADSS has been helping people across Kent and Medway live well with dementia.

What began as a small local charity has grown into one of the region's leading dementia organisations, supporting thousands of people every year through specialist dementia support, personalised dementia care and life-enriching dementia wellbeing services.

Throughout the past 35 years, one thing has never changed: our belief that every person deserves to live with hope, purpose and dignity, regardless of a dementia diagnosis.

As we celebrate this milestone, we're proud of everything we've achieved together - and excited about everything still to come.

We are committed to being open and transparent about our work. Our Annual Reports and Financial Statements provide an overview of our activities, impact and finances, showing how we use our resources to support people affected by dementia across Kent and Medway, please read here.

  • 80% feel less lonely after accessing our services.

  • 90% respondents say we champion the rights of people affected by dementia.

  • 98% of people feel listened to by our team.

  • 95% of people feel our team understand them and their needs.

Our plans for the future

Looking ahead, our new strategy launched in 2024 sets out our goals for 2030: to be an award-winning, well-known and sustainability charity for people living with dementia and their carers.

We aim to deliver even more impact by focusing on four key areas:

Find out more about how we are working to achieve our 2030 goals here.

Creating more awareness of the work we do to support people with dementia, and the impact we have.

Ensuring everyone in Kent and Medway can access the resources they need to live well with dementia.

Striving to achieve our ambition that the people using our services and our team reflect the diversity of Kent and Medway.

Championing the rights of people with dementia and their carers, and calling out injustice.
